Many people know that acupuncture is an effective treatment for pain management, but despite popular belief, it is also a safe and effective way to promote healing as it relaxes, revitalizes and restores energetic balance to all the systems of the body.
We are proud at neurOasis to have Lucy Liu as our practioner of this ancient and healing treatment modality. Ms. Liu was trained at Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine and the Jing An Medical School, also in Shanghai. She holds a New York State Acupuncturist License and is a Diplomat in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Ms. Liu has extensive experience treating patients with chronic pain, patients with HIV and women's health.
Acupuncture regulates and restores the harmonious energetic balance of the body and its innate intelligence and ability to regenerate and heal itself by altering and improving bodily functions. It facilitates the rapid relief of stress and tension and promotes relaxation while strengthening and supporting the body to prevent future illness and diseases.
Acupuncture originated in China and is among the oldest healing practices in the world. It involves the stimulation of anatomical points/areas on the surface of the skin which alter and improve bodily functions. Very fine (whisker-like), solid, metallic needles are used that are sterile and disposable. To date, it has been determined that acupuncture restores, regulates and rejuvenates the vital Qi (pronounced chee): the Chinese believe this is responsible for vibrant health and wellness. As such, it is appropriate and effective for both health enhancement as well as for treating a wide-range of medical conditions:
- Pain Management, including back pain and headaches/migraines
- Menstrual disorders
- Smoking Cessation
- Stress Reduction
- Neuropathy and other nerve and neurological disorders
